Our researchers’ team has visited three coast communities in Delta State (Madangho, Ogidigben and Ajudaibo) and two in Bayelsa State (Etieama, Agbakabiriyai and Igbetaewoama) in order to investigate what are the actual effects of climate change on territory and daily life of people.

Community members who were interviewed agreed on attributing to climate change the great loss of fishery resources as well as the increasing problem of floods and erosions, which is thought to be a potential cause of insecurity and conflict at several levels.
