Our reaserchers’ team continued their missions visiting Esuk Mbak and Creek Town in Cross River State and Okoroette and Ibeno in Akwa Ibom State.

They met with representatives of the local governments and interviewed several members of these communities, who shared their thoughts about how climate change is hugely affecting their communities’ life, mentioning effects like increasing poverty, houses’ destruction from floods and erosions, poorer agriculture and fishery.

Interviewees agreed on the fact that the rising of poverty leads to a rise in crime and insecurity.
